Rourkela is the second largest Urban city of the state of Odisha, India. The city has been selected as a smart city and is famous for the largest steel plants of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) known as Rourkela Steel Plant. It also has one of the National Institutes of Technology (NIT Rourkela) of the country, which will be hosting iSES 2019.<\/p>\n

By Air:<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no commercial airstrip in Rourkela; however, Steel Authority of India Limited has an airport that is routinely used for charter flights and private aircraft. Major airports in the proximity of Rourkela are Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, and Raipur as per details are given below:<\/p>\n

How to Reach NIT<\/h4>\n

Rourkela railway station is situated 7 km away from the NIT campus. Autos\/private taxis\/ OLA are available round the clock there. Local transport facility is also available from nearby state and private bus terminus. Official guests are normally received at the railway station.<\/p>\n
